ABOUT GARY LAIDLAW: The community lost a great man when Gary W. Laidlaw (pictured above on the right at volunteer clean up day) died on August 23, 2016.  Gary was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to countless people. He was respected by his contemporaries at Comerica and revered by fellow trustees, staff, and volunteers from the various non-profits he served.  Gary was known for his kindness and genuine hospitality to all. Gary delivered his message gently and rarely with an abrasive word.  Gary won’t be here to assist us, but he equipped us by his teachings and his kind and gentle ways.

“Gary joined The Fowler Center Board in 2010. His enthusiasm, leadership, and commitment to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of all kinds was powerful. He was totally invigorating and motivating to me,” shared Kyle Middleton, Executive Director of The Fowler Center. “For Gary, there was a 19th hole wherever he went.”
