DIRECT CAMPER CARE:
|
A. Responsible for camper
- 1. Greeting of camper’s usual caregiver and seeking additional information during check-in.
- 2. Supervising and participating during morning and evening preparation (dressing, making beds, etc.), including lifting up to 70 pounds.
- 3. Mealtime assistance.
- 4. Camper Hygiene (showers, teeth brushing, etc.).
- 5. Check-in and checkout screenings completion.
- 6. Supervision/Delegation/Facilitation of topical medications administration.
- 7. Supervision/Delegation/Facilitation of camper awards at the end of each session.
B. Notify Assistant Camp Director of camper
- 1. Behavioral concerns and issues.
- 2. Individual progress.
- 3. Hygiene needs.
- 4. Clothing needs.
- 5. Other camper concerns as they arise.

C. Notify Health Officer of camper:
- 1. First-aid concerns.
2. General Health.
3. Check-in and checkout screening.

ACTIVITY LEADERSHIP
|
A. Plan, implement and involve every camper in:
- 1. Individualized goals developed with camper, caregivers, and staff.
- 2. Free time activities (in cabin or otherwise).
- 3. Campouts and campfires with help of Outdoor Education Instructor.

B. Assist program instructors with involving and motivating campers in:
- 1. Daily activity periods.
- 2. Evening activities.
- 3. Special day and weekend activities.

| SUPERVISE AND MAINTAIN |
A. Cabin Environment.

1. Sleeping area.
2. Bathroom and showers.
3. Living area.
B. Outside area surrounding cabin.
- 1. Organize rubbish pick-up.
2. Wildlife habitats.
C. Notify Maintenance of:
- 1. Laundry and linen needs.
2. Needs for cleanliness (i.e. disinfectant, window clean, etc.).
3. Any camp physical concerns

| TEAMWORK |
A. Orientation
- 1. Six days at the beginning of summer training session.
2. Attend staff in-service during summer as needed.
B. Maintain positive attitude and working relations with every member of the staff.
C. Notify Assistant Camp Director or Program Assistants of any staff concerns as they arise.
D. Create (or purchase) end of summer Cabin Counselor Awards for your cabin.
