We realize that in today’s world funding camp doesn’t always come easy. We’ve compiled a list of organizations and ideas to help you out. If you have any questions, or know of other resources you would like to share with other families, please call our office  at 989-673-2050.

Individual Fundraising Ideas

  • Have a lemonade stand, spaghetti dinner, or car wash
  • shovel snow/rake leaves for your neighbors
  • Camp Makes a Great Gift- ask for your Birthday or Christmas
  • Get rid of your old clothes and toys with a garage sale!

Funding for Individuals with Autism

American Autism Association
Works with families to connect them with funding opportunities to send their children to camps and after-school program.  The organization’s goal is to enable children to live as independently as possible.
 

Autism Family Resources Grant  
One-time $500 grants are awarded to families in financial need; household income may not exceed annual income cannot exceed $50,000 per year.  All funds awarded are paid directly to the vendor or service provider to pay for therapy equipment, safety equipment or services.

Email your request for an application along with your name, address, phone number and email address to info@autismfamilyresources.org . The application file will be emailed back to you.
 

Jack’s Place for Autism Foundation  
Jack’s Place for Autism Foundation is dedicated to providing support, education, compassion and a comprehensive array of services to help families cope with the everyday challenges of autism. Jack’s Place for Autism Foundation has created “Jack’s Dollars”, a Scholarship Program to help families afford the support they need for a variety of programs.
 

The Danny Foundation
Funding ($100 to $500 per year) is available to individuals with autism and their families to help with costs for services and programs. Amounts are based upon financial need. The Danny Foundation is funded in part by the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.

Funding for Specific geographic locations

CSN Fund - Michigan
Parents/Caregivers of a child or youth with special health care needs are encouraged to apply for up to $250 for a Summer Camp Scholarship from the Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Family Center). Children and youth ages 5-21 years old are eligible to apply. The scholarship program has limited funding available, so submit your application as soon as possible. Click here for the application.

Disability Services Resource Center – Bay County
As a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, we assist Bay County residents and their families in finding and making effective use of available resources related to their disability. Founded in 1933, the organization strives to help individuals with disabilities become accepted members of their community to the fullest extent of their capabilities.

Michigan Council for Exceptional Children - Michigan Camps Only
This is an opportunity for students to apply for funding (up to $250) to attend a summer camp in Michigan (exceptions are made for specialized camps not in Michigan). These camperships are open to students who are Michigan residents, with an active Michigan IEP, and would otherwise not have an opportunity for a summer camp experience. Transportation is the responsibility of the family and cannot be supported. Applications must be postmarked by March 17, 2017. Click here for an application.

Fowler Center Camperships

Each year The Fowler Center receives grants and donations that allow camperships to be awarded to those who may need financial assistance to attend camp. Camperships are limited and in order to be eligible, you must return a completed application with the requested documentation by the cycle deadline. *Note: Applications received beyond deadlines for each application cycle will be accepted; however, the opportunity of receiving funds will be significantly decreased.
